Tips and Tricks!

TIP 1: Fit Grips will fit onto the hand rims of 24"-26” wheels. Larger wheels will require you to pre-stretch the grips.

TIP 2: It may be easiest to be out of your wheelchair when mounting the Fit Grips.

TIP 3: For larger hand rims, it’s a good idea to recruit a friend to hold it in place while you pull it the rest of the way.

TIP 4: Wedge the grip in between the hand rim and the wheel to keep it from slipping off.  Once the grip is completely over the hand rim, go back and adjust it into place.

Using the optional glue:

After you stretch the grip over the handrim: If you choose to use glue for a more semi-permanent gripping solution, first stretch the grip over the handrim. Then peel back 2-4 inches of the thin side of the Fit Grip, place the nozzle of the glue between the grip and the rim, and squeeze a thick line of glue around the the diameter of the rim. The more glue you use, the firmer it will hold and the longer it will last.
